Neurological Exam & Treatment
Chiropractic Neurological Exam
After 40 years of practice, my observation of success in a patient’s condition and symptoms weighs heavily with the INITIAL CONSULTATION AND EXAMINATION. Fifty percent (50%) of the success in helping the patient “get well” is IDENTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEM ACCURATELY. The Neurological Examination incorporates both basic and unique neurological testing looking for graded and subtle changes in the patient’s bodily function from:
- Side to side of the body
- Front to back of the body
- Top to bottom of the body
- Internal organ function (ALL OF THE ABOVE from a neurological perspective).
The chiropractic Neurological exam will take approximately 2 hours and is gentle, painless, and very accurate with the information acquired from the examination to help Dr. Furnish develop a treatment program that will do three things:
- Help you become symptom-free as fast as possible.
- Make recommendations for treatment and home therapy to PREVENT RELAPSES.
- Keep the cost to the patient as minimal as possible.
MANY PEOPLE ASK ME WHAT KIND OF TREATMENTS IS RECOMMENDED IN FUNCTIONAL CHIROPRACTIC NEUROLOGY FOR PATIENTS TO BECOME WELL.
The Neurological treatment by Dr. Furnish is “PATIENT SPECIFIC.” This means I do not use the traditional method of care or rehabilitation. Traditionally patients care is a “cookie-cutter” type of care. If you have a certain symptom or condition, you traditionally will receive a set treatment. This usually does not work very well and does not prevent the patient’s symptoms or condition from RELAPSING. Secondly, many therapy recommendations are made based on the patient’s insurance plan. Unfortunately in most cases, what a patient “NEEDS” to get well and what the insurance will “PAY” is not the same.
This is one UNIQUE aspect of treatment at Dr. Furnish’s office. I do not recommend treatment based upon what the patient’s insurance pays, but WHAT THE PATIENT NEEDS TO GET BETTER AND STAY THAT WAY.
